Team Takedown lightweight Shane Roller will reportedly replace Alex Karalexis against Todd Moore at World Extreme Cagefighting’s next scheduled event on August 3rd at the at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

The news comes from Five Ounces of Pain, which has confirmed the change with Moore’s agent, Ken Pavia.

According to the report, Roller was asked by the promotion to be prepared to fight in either August or September in case of an injury to one of the 155 lb. fighters on the card, even though Roller’s original debut date was slated for December. We reported earlier today that two of his Team Takedown training partners, Jake Rosholt and Johny Hendricks, have each signed a multi-fight deal with the WEC and will make their respective debuts at the organization’s planned September 10th event in Florida.

Karalexis was forced to pull out of the bout after suffering a cracked rib in training. He attempted to have the injury cleared by doctors but was unable to have his wish granted, leaving WEC officials in search for a replacement. Moore will be looking for his first WEC win in the fight after dropping a hard-fought unanimous decision to veteran John Alessio in December.
