Phil Baroni in action this weekend overseas

By: James Iannotti - MMAmania.com

The United Kingdom will host to three pretty interesting fights this this Saturday, July 12, from two separate organizations.

Cage Rage welterweight champion, Paul “Semtex” Daley (17-6-2), will make his return to mixed martial arts after a brief five month, semi-retirement. He’ll face undefeated and tough as nails Slovenian, Bojan “Zelva” Kosednar (6-0), at Cage Warriors: “Enter The Rough House 7.”

Here’s a quote from “Semtex” on his return being on a smaller stage than he’s used to:

“I needed a fight. I needed something to bring about greater focus. I approached them [Cage Warriors]. They run a great show in my hometown, and a lot of my friends and family have never seen me fight live.”

Cage Rage 27: “Step Up” will also produce two intriguing match-ups.

In the main event, Phil Baroni (10-10) will make his debut at 170 pounds against Scott Jansen (3-2). “The New York Badass” believes the move to welterweight will give him a better chance to capture a world title.

In the co-main event, feared British knockout artist Neil Grove (5-1) will go toe-to-toe in a rematch with Robert “Buzz” Berry (12-7) — the last man to defeat UFC hall of famer, Ken Shamrock. The two fought back in December at Cage Rage 24, with Grove winning by technical knockout after Berry did not answer the bell for the second round.

Neither of these events will be aired in the United States.

However, Cage Rage 27: “Step Up” can be seen on Nuts TV in the U.K. starting at 9 p.m. local time. Nothing to fear though for the U.S. fans who won’t be able to view these fights live — MMAmania.com will bring you the results and quick thoughts sometime after their completion.
