Benji Radach and Scott Smith agree to Strikeforce bout on April 11

Originally posted on MMAjunkie.com

With the ink still drying on the contract that finalized Strikeforce's acquisition of select PreElite/EliteXC assets, former EliteXC fighter Benji Radach (19-4) and recent Strikeforce import Scott Smith (14-5) have agreed to meet in a middleweight contest under the Strikeforce banner.

Fiveouncesofpain.com was the first to report the matchup, and sources close to the event told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) that the two have verbally agreed to the contest, though bout agreements have yet to be signed.

According to the sources, the bout will take place at as-yet-to-be-announced card tentatively scheduled for April 11 in San Jose, Calif.

Radach was last in action in an October bout with Murilo "Ninja" Rua. The exciting, second-round TKO win for Radach was featured on the CBS broadcast portion of EliteXC's final event, "Heat." The bout was Radach's first since a December 2007 loss put a sour end to an otherwise-successful 5-1 stretch in the now-defunct IFL.

A UFC veteran, the heavy-handed Radach owns 15 knockouts in 19 career wins.
