Radach Optimistic About Future After Memorable Win

Elite XC “Heat” will be recorded in MMA history books for perhaps all the wrong reasons. Between the main event debacle with a cut Ken Shamrock being pulled from the card just hours before the fight, the Florida Athletic Commission’s subsequent investigation into allegations that Seth Petruzelli might have been paid to keep his fight with Kimbo Slice standing, or to this week’s news that Pro Elite has closed shop, it’s likely this was not the fashion in which the promotion wanted to go out on. That said, Heat also featured a memorable middleweight clash between Benji Radach and Murilo “Ninja” Rua, which due to it’s hectic pace and highlight reel exchanges, was a bout that did the sport proud.

“Yeah, it was non-stop man,” Radach told FCF. “It was like balls to the walls. A lot more action then I expected. I wanted to go out there and get it going because I knew he was going to be tough. I wanted to see what he had, blow it out for a moment, and he just kept going and going, coming right at me. I think a lot of it was because I hurt him a couple of times and I was really trying to finish him. I think I threw myself out a little bit in the first round, so I had to sit in the back seat a bit for the second, let him dictate the pace a little bit so I could get my breath back, and hopefully win the end of the round. It worked out for me.”
