Lew "The Titan" Polley is a professional mixed martial artist who has appeared in organizations such as the International Fight League, Extreme Cage Combat, Absolute Fighting Championships, Xtreme Cage Wars, Ultimate Warrior Challenge, Kick Enterprises, Premier X-treme Fighting, Spirit Martial Challenge, Real Fighting Championships, and Pacific X-treme Combat. At the time of this interview, his next scheduled match is against Vernon White at War Gods 5 on May 30th, 2009.

Darrick: What was the road that led you to professional mixed martial arts competition?

Lew: I wrestled a bit internationally after I had finished wrestling in college. I still wanted to compete, but I needed to make money and working as a town councilman was not for me. I had seen quite a few wrestlers becoming successful at mixed martial arts and thought that I was gifted enough to do it as well.

Darrick: In your experience so far, what brings you the most fulfillment out of martial arts?

Lew: The biggest joy that I get out of martial arts is the thrill of the build up and the release that comes with competition. I also enjoy the internal battle that comes with training that allows you to push through barriers and transform yourself into a totally different person.

Darrick: Your next scheduled fight is against Vernon White on May 30th. What are your thoughts about this upcoming match?

Lew: I feel very fortunate for this oppotunity. I have not fought in over a year and firmly believe everything happens for a reason. I think this is the comeback fight that will get me back on track. I respect Vernon very much and I know that he is well-known in the sport of MMA. I feel this match is tailor-made for my style and will allow me to showcase my ability.
