Ghosn Dominates at Call to Arms
Originally posted on Sherdog.com
In the co-main attraction, Tiki Ghosn earned a unanimous decision over the equally experienced Brian Warren at middleweight with 30-27 scores all around.
Ghosn (11-7) smothered Warren (11-13-1) from the onset in the clinch, then in top position once he grounded him with handful of takedowns. Warren spent the first and second rounds defending Ghosn’s ground-and-pound advances. Ghosn then flurried on a waning Warren halfway through the second before Ghosn decided to take the fight back to the canvas.
Warren snuck in a spinning back kick to open the final round, but Ghosn never left the driver’s seat. He punished Warren later with a blistering body kick before snatching Warren’s legs out form him to finish on top.
“I came into this fight with a couple of injuries, but too many people I knew we’re coming, so I couldn’t back out,” said Ghosn. “My original game plan was to knock his head off, but he gave me his hips, so I took him down and beat him up there.”

Wolfslair Academy adds Ghosn as training partner

Originally posted on MMAjunkie.com
The recent influx of top-level talent to the U.K.-based Wolfslair Academy that began with former light-heavyweight champion Quinton "Rampage" Jackson has left many observers scratching their heads.
Until recently, Wolfslair had little notoriety outside of the U.K. But as Wolfslair Muay-Thai coach Dave Jackson recently told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com), the talent pool at the camp continues to grow.
"Rampage is coming out tomorrow," Dave Jackson said. "I spoke to Cheick (Kongo) yesterday, and he is coming to train on Sept. 26. We also have guys like Ricco Rodriquez and Tiki Ghosn coming to help out the guys as well. We have a really strong training team assembled at the moment."

Tiki vs. Stewart Set for March 29 Strikeforce/EliteXC

Originally posted by Dann Stupp [mmajunkie] on Mar 19, 2008 at 12:26 pm in - News -
Undefeated Strikeforce prospect Luke Stewart (5-0) will meet veteran fighter Tiki Ghosn (9-7) at next weekend's Strikeforce/EliteXC show in San Jose, Calif.
MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) learned of the fight from Ghosn's camp, and his manager, Ken Pavia, confirmed the bout on today's edition of TAGG Radio (www.taggradio.com).
The event takes place at the HP Pavilion and airs live on Showtime. Strikeforce world middleweight champ Frank Shamrock takes on Cung Le in the night's main event.
Stewart, who's fought professionally only with Strikeforce, has finished four of his five victories via knockout. The 27-year-old Californian most recently scored a stunning, 19-second knockout (via knee) of Bryson Kamaka at a November Strikeforce event.
He'll now take on Ghosn, a former UFC and WEC fighter who will make his Strikeforce and EliteXC debut at the event. The 31-year-old will look to snap a four-fight losing streak that's included defeats to Chris Lytle and Xtreme Couture fighter Dave Terrel.
The televised card for the event has not yet been announced.

MMA goes Hollywood

MMA goes Hollywood
Wednesday Nov. 7th the World Cage fighting Organization put on an exciting mixed martial arts event at Circus Disco in Hollywood California. This event brought out many Hollywood celebrities such as Christopher Masterson (Francis from the TV show “Malcom in the middle”) and his brother Danny Masterson (Hyde from “That 70s Show”). Also in attendance was MMA legend Dan Severen, MMA fighter Jason Chambers (star of the History channel series “Human Weapon”), the New York Bad Ass Phil Baroni (who acted as announcer for the evening), former heavyweight champ Riddick Bowe, and Jason Mayhem Miller.
Originally, three MMA Agents fighters were slated to fight on the WCO card. UFC veterans Tiki and Carmelo Marrero were to fight on the under card and former UFC champ Mark Kerr was to be the co-main event. However, Tiki’s opponent backed out the day of the weigh-ins and despite a scramble to find a replacement, Tiki was unable to find an opponent in time to participate in the event.
This was Carmello Marrero’s first fight since leaving the UFC. His opponent Rafeal Real was a WEC veteran with a dangerous ground game. Early in the fight Carmello was in trouble after Rapheal scored an early take down and sunk in a deep guillotine as Carmello attempted to stand back up. However Carmello defended well and was eventually able to reverse Rapheal, gaining dominant position. Carmello then overwhelmed Rapheal by raining down numerous unanswered elbows on his opponent while in his guard. At the close of the first round, despite a slow start, Carmello was ahead on the judge’s score cards. However, due to an inadvertent eye poke, Rapheal was unable to continue fighting and the fight was stopped by the doctors after the close of the first round.
Mark “The Smashing Machine” Kerr began his mixed martial arts come back by defeating Steve Gavin in 1:39 of the first round. Gavin was a powerful wrestler fighting out of Minnesota where he trains with “Team Bison”. Mark dominated this fight from the outset, landing a stiff jab on Gavin, which allowed him to pummel in and cinch a tight body lock. Once Mark cinched the body lock he used his considerable strength and years of wrestling experience to pick Gavin up and slam him forcefully to the mat. From there Mark passed Gavin’s guard and landed a variety of punches and elbows. After coming close to sinking in a kimura, Mark used a variety of body punches and elbows to set up a key lock, which forced Gavin to tap out before the end of the first round.
Overall it was a good night for the MMA Agents team. Both fighters had dominant performances and demonstrated the benefits of UFC experience. Both Kerr and Marrero have been invited back to fight on the next WCO card to be held some time in December.

Hightower, Lucero win by 1st round KO’s at Palace FC
Tiki loses to Terrel by TKO at WEC
With a packed crowd at the Tachi Palace and Casino in Leemore, CA watching the Palace Fighting Championships on Thursday, March 22nd, Arizona-based fighters Richie Hightower and Vince Lucero both lived up to the name of the event, “Fast and Furious,” by knocking out their opponents in under a minute.
Pummeling out of the clinch, Hightower (7-1) landed a standing muay thai elbow to the head of Andy Maccarone (7-3) that ended the fight at the 30-second mark. Richie “Elbows,” training out of the new LA Boxing gym in Phoenix, AZ, is now looking for a shot at the PFC 185-pound title.
In heavyweight action later that night, Lucero (18-11) landed a knee to the head of Mike Dexter (4-4) early before following up with an uppercut that ended the contest just 36 seconds into the first round.
In a contest that was dominated by Tiki Ghosn for the first eight minutes, Dave Terrel landed some big punches in the last 30 seconds that dropped the Team Punishment star and led to a referee stoppage at WEC 26 inside “The Joint” at the Hard Rock Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday, March 24.
Ghosn (9-6), who owns the HB Ultimate Training Center in Huntington Beach, CA and holds victories over Genki Sudo, Ronald Jhun and Paul Rodriguez, was making his return to the cage after a one-year layoff following a shoulder injury that occurred at WEC 19 against Pat Healy.
Tiki landed a superman punch and a knee in the closing seconds of the first round, but the bell rang as Terrel slumped to the mat under the barrage. Tiki had Terrel’s back in the second round, but was stood up after being warned for an illegal strike to the back of the head. Moments later, Terrel landed a punch that dropped Tiki for a flash knockdown. Tiki got back up quickly but was out on his feet taking punches before referee Herb Dean stepped in to stop the fight.
